How to Treat Hives Naturally

Hives can be a painful experience for those that suffer from them. Outbreaks can happen at almost anytime. Buying the  best remedy for hives  can be challenging. We use OxyHives and find that it works well.

Allergies can cause hives, itchy red splotches on your skin that come and go, but being evaluated for allergies as a cause of chronic hives (urticaria) is almost always a waste of time and money.

We know that allergies to foods and drugs can cause hives, but almost always hives caused by foods or drugs stop by themselves within a few days or weeks. Chronic hives continue to break out for more than a couple of weeks and are evaluated with blood tests, X rays and MRIs. Usually doctors can’t find a cause, but when they do, they find a hidden infection, tumor or an autoimmune disease.

When hives are caused by helicobacter, the bacteria that causes stomach ulcers, they can be cured by taking antibiotics. Infectious mononucleosis can start as hives that last for several weeks before the actual symptoms of disease start. Exciting new research shows that most people with chronic hives have antibodies against their own white blood cells which can be diagnosed when they have huge red swelling at the site where their blood is injected into their skin and they can be successfully treated with immune suppressants such as cyclosporin and intravenous gamma globulin. Hives caused by touching cold objects are often caused by infection and often stop after a person takes antibiotics.

Doctors usually recommend avoiding aspirin, the most common drug cause of hives. They prescribe antihistamines first. However, sometimes, antihistamines do not control itching and your doctor may have to prescribe cortisone-type medications such as prednisone. Sometimes chronic hives are the first sign of a tumor that may not show up for many years.

Cure Hives and Stop the Itching

Get quick relief from your hives symptoms. After searching for our own relief of hive symptoms we found good results using OxyHives. You too can  have relief from the scratching and itching.

You’re happily living your life, when suddenly your face feels hot. It also starts to itch. When you look in the mirror you see that you have raised welts on your cheeks, and when you look at your arms you can see the welts are appearing there too.

You have hives; the medical term for the condition is urticaria.

hive treatment

There are two main forms of hives, acute urticaria and chronic urticaria. In the acute form of hives, the cause is usually an allergy. In adults, allergic hives are commonly caused by shellfish and nuts. Children may be allergic to shellfish and nuts too, but they can also be allergic to eggs, wheat, and soy.

Although hives clearly have a physical cause — they may even appear if you have a viral infection like the flu — stress can be a factor too.

When you go to your doctor, you’ll usually be offered antihistamines in some form. These may work, in as little as 24 hours, reducing the itching, and gradually your hives will fade. If your doctor feels that you’re suffering from stress, he may offer stress medication too.

Is There a  Cure for Hives ?

Because hives have so many different causes there’s no sure and certain "cure" which works for everyone. In fact, if you’re a chronic hives sufferer, your hives may be of an unknown origin: this is so in half of the chronic hives sufferers.

Natural hives remedies  which you can try include certain essential oils, like lavender and geranium. Pure essential oil of lavender, when a drop or two is applied to the welts neat, will often stop the itching. (Dilute all essential oils with a carrier oil if using them on children.)

If you have a sudden hives flare up, an ice compress will help to relieve the swelling, and deadens the itch.

Homeopathic remedies can help too; these are usually sprayed under the tongue.

Natural Home Remedies for Hives

If you have landed here you probably looking to  relieve hives and the related itching and swelling. After trying different products we found a nautral based product that relieves hives symptoms quickly. We recommend you try it yourself, it is known as OxyHives,  check their  2 free bottles offer .

Hives also known as urticaria. Allergic reaction to a drug or food is a cause of hives. They range in size from a few millimeters to several inches in diameter. Hives can be round, or they can form rings or large patches. Hives can occur on any skin surface, but usually spare the palms and soles of the feet. Hives are classified as acute or chronic depending on the length of the episode. Hives are raised, often itchy, red welts on the surface of the skin. Hives may be associated with dramatic swelling reactions; swelling of the lips, eyes, and ears can suddenly and grotesquely alter the appearance of an allergy victim. Swelling of the lips and tongue may occur immediately after eating a food and may be life-threatening because of airway obstruction. Some patients get hives occasionally only when they ingest a specific food or food additives. Other get hives as a chronic problem which can go-on for years. Most studies of chronic hives suggest a low % of food allergy causes usually because diet revision attempts were inadequate to reveal the hidden food causes. Swelling from angioedema can also occur around your hands, feet, and throat.

Hives and angioedema form when, in response to histamine, blood plasma leaks out of small blood vessels in the skin. Hives and angioedema can happen at any age. Angioedema typically causes swelling of the lips, larynx (producing hoarseness or shortness of breath), or the lining of the stomach and intestines (causing abdominal pain). Symptoms include muscle soreness, shortness of breath, vomiting, and diarrhea. Urticarial disease is thought to be caused by the release of histamine and other mediators of inflammation (cytokines) from cells in the skin. Histamine causes fluid to leak from the local blood vessels leading to swelling in the skin. In rare cases urticaria and angioedema are accompanied by shock and difficulty breathing. This is called anaphylaxis. Ordinary hives may be widespread and disturbing to look at, but the vast majority of cases do not lead to life-threatening complications. Sometimes hives are caused by a physical stimulus like contact with heat, water, or pressure. Hives can also be caused by contact with substances that are irritating. Just about any substance has the potential to be irritating.

The  treatment of hives  depends on the severity of the symptoms. Psychological treatments such as stress management can sometimes lessen severity and occurrence. The most commonly used oral treatments are Non-sedating antihistamines, including Allegra, Claritin, Clarinex, and Zyrtec, are also used to treat hives, expecially hives that last longer than 6 weeks. Chronic hives may be treated with antihistamines or a combination of medications. When antihistamines don’t provide relief, oral corticosteroids may be prescribed. Oral steroids (prednisone, Medrol) can help severe cases of hives in the short-term, but their usefulness is limited by the fact that many cases of hives last too long for steroid use to be continued safely. Other treatments can sometimes include doxepin (Sinequan), an antidepressant that can work as a potent antihistamine, montelukast (Singulair), and medications such as ranitidine (Zantac) or cimetidine (Tagamet), which are more commonly used to treat reflux. To mangage hives and swelling avoid hot water (use luke warm), gentle or mild soap, apply a cool compress or wet cloths to the affected areas, enter a cool room, wear light weight clothes. Avoid irritating the area with tight-fitting clothing. Apply calamine lotion.

Remedy – Stop Itchy Hives

If you have hives you know the suffering that people go thorugh when ever an outbreak occurs. Treatment of hives can be accomplished easily. We have excellent results using Oxy Hives if you need  relief from hives  check out their offer of  2 free bottles.

Hives, known in the medical literature as urticaria, are a localized itchy outbreak of the skin. In this essentially allergic reaction, the skin breaks out in bumps surrounded by elongated flares. These "hives" are referred to as wheals or welts. The welts tend to be pink except that they turn white when touched. Welts may coalesce into plaques covering substantial areas of skin.

Hives  are intensely itchy. They may involve any area of the body from the scalp to the soles of the feet, and appear in crops of 24- to 72-hour duration. The most common sites for outbreaks are the hands, feet, and face. Angioedema, a swelling below the skin caused by the same allergic mechanism, usually occurs around the eyes and in the lips. While the itchy bumps usually go away without treatment, angioedema in the upper respiratory tract may be life threatening and requires immediate medical attention.

A survey of college students indicates about one in five people has hives at some point in life. They may occur at any age, but young adults in their twenties are the most frequently affected. The precise causes of the condition vary person to person.

Aspirin sensitivity is observed in up to 67 percent of persons who have recurrent outbreaks of hives. Aspirin alters the metabolism of free fatty acids so that it favors the production of leukotrienes. These are hormonal messengers that make the walls of blood vessels more permeable to histamine. Aspirin also makes the lining of the intestines more permeable to allergens, increasing the risk of reaction to common food allergens such as cheese, chocolate, eggs, milk, pineapple, shellfish, and strawberries. At least one study found taking a single adult aspirin daily for three weeks desensitizes the immune system to aspirin and also to foods, but the benefits vanish if aspirin is discontinued.

Two factors increase the risk of outbreaks of hives after eating allergenic foods. One is incomplete digestion. A study published in the 1940′s reported that of 77 patients diagnosed with chronic hives, 65 had failures to produce enough stomach acid to break down the proteins that cause allergies. Treatment with hydrochloric acid and a vitamin B complex relieved symptoms in most of the patients in the study. Failure to secrete sufficient gastric acid is especially common in persons over the age of 60. It may be a major contributing factor in repeated outbreaks of hives after consuming allergenic foods in older persons.

home remedy for hives

Another contributing factor to recurrent food allergies is the permeability of the intestinal wall. This is the reason reactions to food are more severe when they are consumed after taking aspirin. Aspirin irritates the lining, increasing its permeability and easing transport of allergens into the bloodstream. Alcohol, NSAIDs, and many food additives have a similar effect. Consuming any substance that irritates the lining of the digestive tract increases the severity of the food allergy that causes hives.

Food colorings, especially yellow dye #5 (tartrazine), can provoke hives in about 0.1 percent of the population. Tartrazine is added to almost every food and even antihistamines, antibiotics, sedatives, and steroids. This yellow dye modifies fatty acid metabolism in the same manner as aspirin and increases the susceptibility of the skin to allergic inflammation.

Food flavorings are a major factor in many cases of hives in children. A wide range of salicyclic acid esters flavors cake mixes, chewing gum, puddings, and soft drinks. These chemical relatives of aspirin also occur naturally in curry powder, dill, licorice, oregano, paprika, peppermint, prunes, raisins, and turmeric. The average child consumes as much 200 mg of salicylate per day. This dosage approaches the amount of salicylate in children’s aspirin. Other flavorings, including aspartame, cinnamon, menthol, and vanilla may produce urticaria in some individuals.

The food preservatives BHA (butylated hydroxyanisol) and BHT (butylated hydroxytoluene) provoke reactions in about 15 percent of individuals who have chronic hives. As many as 44 percent of persons with chronic urticaria are allergic to benzoates, which occur in relatively high concentrations in fish and shrimp. Sulfites, which are sprayed on fruits, vegetables, and shrimp to keep them fresh in countries outside the United States, aggravate a wide range of allergic conditions, including asthma as well as hives. Sulfites occur naturally in beer and wine.

About 1 in 10 people is allergic to penicillin, and about 1 in 4 of those allergic to penicillin will develop urticaria, angioedema, or anaphylaxis after taking it. Penicillin is a common additive to livestock feeds. Both skin outbreaks and anaphylactic reactions have been traced to penicillin in frozen dinners, milk, and soft drinks. Among patients with chronic hives and an allergy to penicillin, about half will improve on a dairy-free diet.

Home Remedy for Hives and Urticaria

Are you still looking for a quick treatment of hives and related symptoms? We recommend  OxyHives , which has proven to give good results, we are happy ourselves.

I want to show you  how to stop hives  from occurring. There are a lot of people that end up with this problem. It is a skin irritation that leaves red scaly looking skin that can get quite irritated and itchy. It probably isn’t that bad if you get it on skin that is concealed by your clothes, but if you’re someone that gets it on your face, it can really be an embarrassing condition to run into. It is also important to point out that people with hives will actually have outbreaks from time to time. They never actually  get rid of it permanently . I wanted to talk to you about how you can stop hives from occurring.

There are a number of reasons that you could end up with hives, but the number one reason is that it is related to some sort of stress. Stress has been proven to cause out breaks of this on people prone to get it. The easy one line response to solve this is to eliminate the stress. This isn’t always the easiest thing to do. Stress typically comes from your job, which is important. You may need to reduce your hours and pick up work somewhere else. Or you could learn to handle your stress better and let go of it.

There is another way to  stop hives from occurring  and this is for people that tend to keep getting hives over and over again. These outbreaks can probably be timed to some sort of allergy symptom. The good news is that this is relatively easy to take care of. All you need is some sort of allergy medicine like Claritin to take care of this.

How to Get Rid of Hives Naturally

For prompt relief of the itching of hives we have found the homeopathic ,  natural product of OxyHives  to provide quick relief. Try it yourself, they even have an  offer of 2 free bottles .  Like us, I’m sure you want relief from the constant scratching.

Hives are red and sometimes itchy bumps on your skin. An allergic reaction to a drug or food usually causes them. Allergic reactions cause your body to release chemicals that can make your skin swell up in hives. People who have other allergies are more likely to get hives than other people. Other causes include infections and stress.

Hives (medically known as urticaria) are red, itchy, raised areas of skin that appear in varying shapes and sizes. They range in size from a few millimeters to several inches in diameter. Hives can be round, or they can form rings or large patches. Wheals (welts), red lesions with a red "flare" at the borders, are another manifestation of hives. Hives can occur anywhere on the body, such as the trunk, arms, and legs.

Hives are the body’s response to allergens. They generally look like a rash or like welts on the skin and appear after exposure to an allergen to which the body is susceptible. Common allergens that cause hives include fish, milk products, nuts, food additives, flavorings, preservatives, penicillin, and aspirin. Stress, temperature extremes, pressure on the skin, and insect bites can also cause hives to appear.

hives and pregnancyHives result from dilation of capillaries allowing fluid to leak out into the surrounding tissue, the epidermis. They resolve when the body absorbs this fluid. The border of a hive is described as polycyclic, or made up of many circles, and changes as fluid leaks out and then is absorbed. Pressing on a hive causes the skin to blanch distinguishing it from a bruise or papule.

 Natural Treatment for Hives

Make a paste with 2 cups of oatmeal and 3 tablespoons of cornstarch. Add a little water to make it into a paste. Apply to affected area for 15-30 minutes. It dries the hives up within a couple of hours.

By dabbing milk of magnesia on the lesions, provides some relief. As milk of magnesia is an alkaline solution it helps in removing the irritating itchy sensation.

Make a paste with 2 cups of oatmeal and 3 tablespoons of cornstarch. Add a little water to make it into a paste. Apply to affected area for 15-30 minutes. It dries the hives up within a couple of hours.

Bath can also be used as a  remedy for hives . In order to get the greatest effect, three tablespoons of cornstarch and five to six tablespoons of oatmeal should be added to the water. Sodium bicarbonate can be used to substitute for the cornstarch.

To calm your nerves (which will calm your hives), you may want to try drinking herbal tea, says Thomas Squier, president of Botanico Educational Services in Aberdeen, North Carolina, and a Cherokee herbologist. He recommends peppermint or passionflower teas. Chamomile, valerian and catnip are other common sedative herbal teas.

Oatmeal can be really useful for hives. Pour one cup of boiling water over one tablespoon oatmeal. Let it steep for thirty minutes. Strain it, and then apply the liquid on your hives with a cotton ball. This also works to relive bug bites. Refrigerate the solution and use it in a few days. You can also make this in larger amounts and put it in your bathwater (about four cups of water and four tablespoons of oatmeal).

Herbal manuals often list a poultice of the crushed leaves of chickweed as a remedy for itchy skin. Some people make a paste of water and cream of tartar and apply it to the hives, replacing it when the paste dries and gets crumbly.

Natural Remedies for Hives

No more hives –   the cures available today. There is no need to suffer with skin rashes,  in particular hives any longer.

Learn the facts on  Hives, and the cures

What is Hives: The skin becomes covered with pinkish or red bumps or swollen areas of skin. Sometimes they itch real bad, and at othertimes they don’t. You can get hives over most of your body, or sometimes just on your stomach, or arms. The medical name for hives is urticaria.

What causes Hives: Hives are usualy caused by being allergic to something. But they can occur when a person is exposed to anything that causes his body to release histamine. Releasing histamine causes liquid to leak from blood vessels under the skin. When this fluid collects or ‘pools’ together it creates the bumps that are called ‘hives’.

My daughter and I both have had hives, and we both got them from the same reasons, we were allergic to medications given for other illnesses. I got hives from taking penicillian, even though I took penicillian most of my life with no side effects, I now find myself very allergic to it. My daughter got hives from taking ‘Ceclore’, a prescription antibiotic, for an ear infection. You can also get hives from insect bites and stings and from allergic reactions to eating fish, shellfish, nuts, and eggs. Strangely, you can eat a food item all your life, then suddenly develop an allergy to it, like I did to the medication Penicillian.

Treatment for Hives : When my daughter and I both developed hives from medicine allergies, we were given Benadryl, and stopped taking the medicines that caused the hives to first appear, in a day or two they were gone. They are usually treated with an antihistamine or the prescription medicine Atarax.

Raised, red, itchy hives giving you grief? Can you really find  natural relief with OxyHives .

Are you suffering in anguish with no relief in sight after visiting doctors who told you "…hey, you’ll get used to this ’cause…ehm…we’re not quite sure what the cause is!" Any person being tormented by hives will tell you that getting used to it is not an option.

Hives come and go affecting 20% of the population according to the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. Known medically as urticaria, the rash can erupt with emotional stress or from allergic reactions to food.

While some people are lucky enough to have the itchy hives disappear on their own, other people go through weeks of agony and itching that drives them to tearing their skin off. The frustrating part stems not from the diagnosis, but from the frequent inability to solve the real reason why symptoms don’t go away for you despite receiving treatment for hives.

Many people have suffered through the pokes of allergy tests to the food elimination diets that put them back in the square one – still itching and hurting.

A physician will gladly offer you a hives treatment by giving you creams to slather on, cool baths, pills to consume, feared steroids and antihistamine medications. For some people, however, the itch goes on. For some, the meds side effects add to the already ‘burning’ health issue.

Bring itching to a standstill by trying  OxyHives Homeopathic Easy-To-Use Spray .

Say goodbye to the itching from hives and anguish with this natural homeopathic remedy that assists the body in getting rid of the hives symptoms. OxyHives is safe and does not cause any nasty side effects. It was researched by homeopathy professionals to relieve various symptoms of hives.

Oxy Hives spray relief is speedy and easy to use. Simply spray underneath the tongue up to 3 times a day to get rid of the torment of itching! Get rid of the agony of pain, itching, burning, stinging, skin sensitivity, swelling and light sensitivity now with this sublingual, non-addictive, non-drowsy spray.

natural remedies for hives

What I truly like a lot about  treating hives  like this: the remedy spray is so easy to use in comparison to all those creams and pills, not to mention trips to the doctor’s office. I’d spray under the tongue and my itchy days are over and gone.

What makes it work?

Take a look at some of the ingredients and learn about what they can do for you:

  • Arnica Montana – assists the body by alleviating the skin’s hyper-sensitivity to air and light.
  • Apis Mellifica – decreases the anguish by working on the stinging, burning and itching
  • Ichthyolum – nourishes the body to assist with healing the inflammation hives creates
  • Lachesis – eases the sensation of burning on the skin from hives

It’s thought that way because it feels like you’re only stopping an outbreak, not really getting rid of it totally. If you end up getting hives on your face or exposed skin, it can be quite embarrassing. People look at it and it actually looks quite bad or contagious. Either way, no one wants to have this at anytime. That’s why I want to talk to you about how  you can rid yourself of hives .

  home remedies for hives

An interesting thing happens to create hives on your body. Your blood plasma actually leaks out of the blood and onto your skin. Due to this reason, you can’t actually treat hives itself, you have to address the reason that the plasma leaks. The number one reason this happens is due to a person being under high stress. Telling someone to reduce or even eliminate their stress is really a tough thing to say because most people are stressed out from their work. In this case, you have to learn to let it go and cope with it better.

If you want to  rid yourself of hives  that seems to breakout at the same time each year, than you take some Claritin. Hives will actually happen because of an allergy reaction, which tends to happen at the same time each year. All you have to do is take Claritin before you usually break out and you’ll be fine.

Most of the sufferers would rather just get rid of it for good because it isn’t fun to live with. Most important it looks pretty bad on your skin and if you have it on an exposed part of your body like your head or your hands, it can turn a lot of people off. Stress Causes Hives?

Do you have hives caused by stress, do you need relief from the suffering and itching? We use a spray to get relief from the symptoms, with good results,  it may help you too -  find more details here .

If you are wondering whether stress can cause hives, you will be disappointed to know it can. This is primarily because stress alters internal chemistry in our bodies giving rise to very many conditions like hives. Also, another reason for the hives is that the skin is very large and more vulnerable to hives because of its sensitivity. Hives are itchy conditions that manifest themselves on skin with the ability to go away within a very short time as they appeared. They are usually sore and they can affect any part of the skin in the body. There are other things that cause hives like insect bites, allergies to foods like nuts and milk, environmental causes like sunlight, cold and water. Hives also go by another name which is urticaria.

hives treatments

You also need to know that there are two different kinds of hives and the first one is ordinary hives and the other one is physical hives. Ordinary hives and the most common ones appear for no reason and last for a very short time. If you have hives that last for months, they are called chronic hives. Stress is definitely associated with hives and there are people who have dealt with their stress issues and managed to eradicate the annoying hives. The other types of hives come when the skin is stimulated by the external factors I had mentioned earlier. There are many other triggers of hives apart from stress and the factors are mentioned above.

The triggers include perfume or deodorant, pets, bacteria, fungi or any other form of disease. Therefore, when you suspect that your hives are caused by stress, you have to deal with the stress first so that you can eliminate this underlying factor. There are so many ways of eradicating stress and the first thing you need to do is to find out what your cause of stress is. The causes are called stressors and they may include external or internal factors. You are best placed to identify the problem and when you have, it is time to deal with it. If it is a problem that you can remove or move away from, you need to do exactly that. If the cause is there and there is nothing you can do about it, you need to adapt to the problem and form special skills that will enable you go on with confidence despite of the problem.

Other things you can do to cure stress are to visit a specialist for professional help, keeping optimism and positivity nearby, eating a healthy diet, engaging in physical exercises and so many more. When you have done all this, you will start getting better. Eventually you will have solved the problem of hives. You might also be cured from stress and not manage to eliminate hives on you. Do not worry because this means that the cause of hives in your body is not stress. Therefore, you need to  know how to treat hives  in general. A doctor will administer a steroid to relive symptoms and hives eventually go away on their own.

Treatment of Urticaria

For relief of the itching of skin rashes and hives condition, we tried many products and methods, but have found  OxyHives a natural based product  to work well.

Chronic urticaria is an allergic skin rash that lasts longer than six weeks. Also referred to as hives or a nettle rash, urticaria is most often brought on by an allergy to pets, latex, a bee or insect sting, medicine or foods. The rash is composed of round or oval bumps on the skin, sometimes red in color and often itchy. They are caused by a release of histamines in the skin which causes the small blood vessels near the skin’s surface to leak fluid. It is this fluid that causes the irritation and swelling consistent with hives.

The best way to treat chronic urticaria hives is to treat the itching, as scratching the rash will only prolong and exacerbate the hive outbreak. Calamine lotion is a proven way to soothe the skin and decrease itching. Antihistamines taken orally or applied topically are among the most widespread treatment options for such skin rashes. There is also a wide variety of herbs that can impair histamine production, speeding the recovery time and minimizing itchiness. These include Paeonia and Forsythia extract, which can be found in a variety of dietary supplements. Lotions containing green tea have shown antihistamine properties, and their application on rashes will soothe and relieve itchy skin.

remedies for hives

Cholinergic urticaria are hives that are caused by profuse sweating, usually in response to overheating of the body because of exercise. The hives are generally small, ranging from 2 mm to 3mm and are often restricted to the upper torso and arms, although sometimes these hives have been found as low as the thighs. These urticaria hives develop quickly after a rise in body temperature, usually appearing within twenty minutes of increased internal temperature.

These hives are most often noted as a result of exercise or stress, and usually dissipate on their own within thirty minutes. The most severe incidents are sometimes accompanied by headaches, shortness of breath, lightheadedness and abdominal cramps. The best way to treat cholinergic urticaria is to cool the body down, by simply resting in a cool area, taking a cool shower, or drinking copious amounts of water.

Sometimes urticaria hives are not brought on by an allergic reaction. These can be triggered by extreme temperatures, acute stress, prolonged exposure to sunlight or a sudden increase in body temperature due to exercise or climate. By reducing daily stress and physical exertion, urticaria hives can be minimized and chronic urticaria can dissipate. Keeping the body hydrated is an important component to keeping it cool, and this can help prevent urticaria hives. Identifying and preventing the cause of urticaria is the most important step to keeping the number and intensity of chronic urticaria incidents to a minimum.

If you find yourself breaking out in hives and think that you may have chronic urticaria or cholinergic urticaria, you should call your doctor, especially if you have just started taking a new medication or were stung by a bee or other insect.

Homeopathic Remedies For Hives

Homeopathic Remedies For Skin Hives

If  you are in need of  relief from your hives  have  a look at this natural spray alternative.  We have found this to work well and recommend it to friends.

Dr. Cyril Meyre is a Naturopathic Doctor who practices live blood analysis and Iridology in a naturopathic approach. He also gives courses in Iridology and seminars on different topics related to health issue. Dr. Meyre works as a consultant for Herbasant, a natural health products company based in Montreal.

  how to treat hives
In this interview, he is explaining how homeopathic remedies can help heal skin issues.

Optiderma: How does homeopathy work in helping with chronic skin conditions?

Dr. Meyre: Homeopathy is going to help to improve a better functioning of the kidneys and resolve skin problems. For skin problems, you have to work on the kidneys, as well as the liver, and the bowels.

For example, if you have constipation, you have to improve it to have healthier skin. If you have kidney issues or if you don’t drink enough water, all the toxins will go out through the skin. Working on the liver will also help, because the liver is the organ where all the toxins are going through. You have to work on the liver for a better detox of the body.

For example, Homeotox (general body detox developed by Herbasante) is going to work on the emunctories, which are the kidneys, the liver, the bowels, the skin, and the lungs. By working on these emunctories, you will improve your skin issue. You can also work on the lymphatic system with Lympatox. The lymphatic system is where all the toxins will be stocked. You will then improve your skin and your immune system.

Optiderma: How do you explain that such a minimum amount of plant can heal skin sufferers?

Dr. Meyre: With  homeopathic remedies , you don’t need a large amount. You just need a trace of the product. Homeopathic remedies act as a messenger, which works on a specific disease. For instance, if you choose sulphur 4CH for skin problems, it will only send a message on what is lacking in the body and will just give a small go to make it work better.

Optiderma: Does phytotherapy and homeopathy work together or one should try one remedy at a time?

Dr. Meyre: It depends on the case, but you can always mix phytotherapy and homeopathic remedies. You can mix different remedies to get better results. Usually, you still get good results with homeopathy only. When you have acute eczema, hives, or psoriasis, you can also use a homeopathic cream to calm down the symptoms.

Optiderma: What would you suggest to a person who have had eczema since her childhood and for whom cortisone cream doesn’t work anymore?

Dr. Meyre: To replace the cortisone cream, you have Execalm cream. It is a paraben-free cream mixed with homeopathic products. We also include in that product Dead Sea salts. If you have had eczema for years, you also have to treat the allergy.

Optiderma: What kind of protocol could be followed for someone who suffers from a skin condition?

Dr. Meyre: You can use Dermaplex, which is a product that is going to work on acne, eczema, and psoriasis. It contains all the basic remedies to clean the blood, nourish and repair the skin. When you are using those products, you can start with a program. Start the first 4 weeks with a general detox, like Homeotox or Lympatox, then you can include some more specific remedies for the skin.

Even for severe skin conditions, you can still combine homeopathic remedies. There are no side effects and no contraindications with pharmaceutical products.

Optiderma: As a conclusion, can you tell me three reasons why people should give a chance to homeopathic remedies to treat their skin condition?

Dr. Meyre: You can give homeopathic remedies to everyone: newborns, a child or a 75 years old person. There are no side effects and you will get some results.

I don’t say you will get 100% result, but at least 20% benefit up to 80% benefit, depending the case and what is behind your skin condition. Sometimes, you can have results in the same day with Execalm, for example. For another person, it would take 2 weeks. It depends how bad the situation is on your skin, how long you had it, and what kind of remedies you are using.

The important thing with homeopathic remedies is to take homeopathy in the proper way and to repeat the dosage 3 to 4 times a day. If you don’t do this every day, the results will be lower. So you have to be very strict and very constant when taking homeopathic remedies to get good results.

Skin rashes are a common problem most of us deal with some time or the other. Here is an account of some of the common skin rashes.

The term "rash" refers to red eruptions forming on the skin. In fact, most people use this term to describe many kinds of skin conditions. Given below are some of the most common skin rashes:

  • Patches of scaly skin with infection not being the underlying cause.
  • Patches of scaly skin caused by bacterial or fungus infection.
  • Itchy, red patches or bumps all over the skin.

Even though skin rashes are usually not dangerous, it is never a good idea to self-medicate yourself. If you get a rash, you need to get it evaluated by a medical professional. Given below are some common skin rashes which can assist you in categorizing your skin rash.

red hives

Patches of scaly skin with infection not being the underlying cause

An itchy and scaly patch of skin usually is indicative of any of the conditions known as eczema.

Dyshidrotic Eczema: This is a common skin rash which is neither contagious nor infectious. It occurs in the hands and/or feet. Usually people who sweat profusely in these areas get this type of eczema. There is a slight amount of scaling and sometimes even cracking in the affected area. In severe cases, small, watery blisters erupt on the fingers, palms, toes and soles, which appear and disappear. There could be itching, pain and even secondary infections. If the skin around the nails is affected, the nails can get disfigured. When this condition occurs in the feet, it is often mistaken for a fungal infection. The condition can become worse if it is treated as a fungus.

Atopic Dermatitis: This is one of the most common types of eczema. The term "dermatitis" refers to skin inflammation, while "atopic" denotes hereditary diseases. This problem usually starts in childhood, manifesting as scaly patches on the legs, arms, torso, and the scalp, along with chapping in the cheeks. Atopic Dermatitis may also spread to the inner parts of the elbows and knees. When adults get it, it affects the area around the eyelids, hands, genitals, and sometimes even all over the body. When this condition occurs, the skin gets inflamed and very itchy which usually results in swelling, redness, and cracking. This condition appears and disappears for no apparent reason. It often is at its worst during the winter months, when the air is dry and cold.

Contact Dermatitis: This is a rash that is caused by the skin coming in contact with some substance which it is allergic to, such as costume jewelry that contains nickel and poison ivy. Only that part of the skin that comes in contact with the substance is affected in Contact Dermatitis.

There are a number of other scaly rashes, such as psoriasis, which is a hereditary condition that mainly affects the elbows and the knees, and sometimes even other parts of the body, and Pityriasis Rosea, which causes scaly patches on the back and the chest and usually subsides in a month or so. Xerosis, which causes extreme dryness, cracking, roughness and scaly skin, manifests itself during the dry, cold winter months.

Patches of scaly skin caused by bacterial or fungus infection.
When infections are manifested as rashes, they are usually caused by bacterial or fungus infections.

Bacterial Infections: Impetigo is the most common type of bacterial infection that affects the skin. It is caused by the streptococcus or the staphylococcus bacteria and usually occurs in children. Its symptoms include localized redness developing into blisters that gradually turn into crusts which erode after a while.

Fungal Infections: Although fungal infections are quite common, they do not occur as often as eczema rashes. One of the most common errors made by people is to mistake scaly rashes for a fungal infection. For instance, a person with scaly spots on the torso, legs, or arm is far more likely to have some type of eczema rather than "ringworm", which is the common term for fungus.

Itchy, red patches or bumps all over the skin.
This kind of an outbreak is usually due to an allergy or caused by a virus.

Viral Rash: While viral infections associated with the skin, such as shingles or herpes, usually occur in a localized part of the body, viral rashes can occur all over the body. People who get these rashes may also be affected by the other symptoms of a viral infection like sneezing, coughing, nausea or an upset stomach. This kind of a rash usually lasts for a few days and subsides on its own.

Allergic Drug Rash: Usually, an allergic drug rash manifests itself within a couple of weeks of using a new drug, especially if it has never been taken before. The usual treatment is to stop the drug immediately to see if the rash subsides.

Some Other Rashes

Rosacea: This is a chronic condition that affects the face and usually occurs in middle-aged people. Its symptoms are dilation in the superficial blood vessels which results in redness of the skin, sometimes accompanied by red pimples or pimples filled with pus. At times rhinophyma, or an overgrowth on the nose due to the enlargement of the sebaceous glands, can also occur. Rosacea can also affect the eyes manifesting itself as blepharitis, or an inflammation of the eyelids resulting in swelling and redness, accompanied by the formation of dried crusts, or conjunctivitis. It is not understood yet what causes Rosacea. The condition may worsen with time, and usually there is no remission.

Treatment For Hives

What are Hives and How to Treat Them

Don’t suffer from the pain and itchying of hives any longer get  fast relief with natural hives treatments .

Hives are raised, itchy welts on the surface of the skin caused by hypersensitivity to a substance. When the body encounters a substance that it is allergic or sensitive to, it releases histamines and other chemicals into the bloodstream. As a result, the capillaries and tiny veins leak. The leaking fluid gets trapped in the skin and lining membranes, which causes the localized swelling seen with hives. The welts, which are also called wheals, may remain small, or may spread large enough to join together. With hives, the center of the welt blanches, or turns white, when pressed.

When hives occur around the face, particularly around the lips and eyes, they are called angioedema. Angioedema may also occur on the hands, feet and throat. Hives can come and go suddenly, often without any apparent cause. It is estimated that up to 70% of hives go undiagnosed as to the cause, because they can appear hours after exposure to the irritant.
